I started as a Shakespeare-loving acrobat turned dancer for the stage -> which lead me to choreography and directing and tap dancing --> which lead to musicals and singing, oh singing!

I went to school for music and trained as a classical singer and then finally delved into the world of voice for the stage. I have come full circle as a text-loving, voice and acrobatic movement coach. Every discipline calls me back to words, to movement, to the human experience. The integration of different media for expression - the desire to be where they all merge, that's what makes me an actor.

Voice Over Commerical Demo - Ann Marie Pollard
00:00 / 00:00

My very first jobs came out of training as a competitive gymnast - I coached summer camps for young gymnasts and performed as an acrobat in theatrical productions. The first season of my life was about my BODY. How to EMBODY an artistic expression and say something powerful and strong and flexible and interesting through MOVEMENT. Through working in the theatre and growing up with a music-teaching mom, I ventured into training as a SINGER. The second season of my life was about my VOICE. How to EXPLORE it, from opera to musical theatre to speech and everything in between. Now, I find that my most fulfilled authentic self is found at the intersection of disciplines. Some of my proudest projects include directing and choreographing music theatre, creating cabaret performances, arranging music for theatrical performance and merging texts from the past with staging of today.

Some of my directing projects featured in the gallery include:

Sweeney Todd at the Lincoln Community Playhouse

Pinocchio at Lubbock Moonlight Musicals

Cosi Fan Tutte at Texas Tech University

Maria de Buenos Aires with the Texas Tango Camerata
